In the heart of the Dolomites stands this hotel built in 1986 and renovated recently by the Milanese practice of Peter Pichler. The old structure has been maintained, presenting traditional Alpine architecture of pitched roofs and balconies, but the original composition of three volumes has been played with, combining vernacular elements with new facades of concrete which change in treatment, in accordance with orientation and program. Locally sourced materials like textiles, stones, and chestnut wood are used in the simple functional interiors, as much in the 35 rooms available as in the communal facilities, such as the bar, the restaurant, and the spa.
