In 2018 the Berlin-based firm J.Mayer H. und Partner won the design for the new office building for software company IGZ, which has just been completed in Falkenberg (Germany). Built at the highest point of the site, this 120-meter long rectilinear building is the first new construction of the extended masterplan, which also includes an innovation center, more offices, and a restaurant. Using local materials such as granite or wood, the building takes the form of a reinforced concrete skeleton and incorporates support and reinforcement elements built in wood and fair-faced concrete. The timber façade in gray reinterprets the material quality of other company buildings. The partition walls and embedded furniture are manufactured in wood and glass. The flexible design, which foresees future transformations, includes photovoltaic and geothermal energy systems.
