Located in Lanheses, an industrial area in the Portuguese municipality of Viana do Castelo, BW II is a building for BorgWarner, an American group of manufacturers of electric motors and components for both light and heavy and both hybrid and electricity-run vehicles.

The project comprises two volumes differing in height: a large industrial plant and a block for social and administrative functions. They are visually connected by a facade of vertical prefabricated concrete slats, which give rhythm to the complex and unify it. This facade is sculpted with strategic openings for daylight, breaking the overall massing. The prominent feature inside is at the main entrance, with a double-height foyer and sculptural stairs that seem to be floating. This staircase has two flights that make no contact, the lower one being an independent base that rises to form the first three steps.
