Winner of the 2019 Mies van der Rohe Award for Emerging Architecture, this school cafeteria designed by the Toulouse firm Bast is located in Montbrun-Bocage, a commune in France’s Haute-Garonne department, close to the Pyrenees. Named E26, the timber construction physically closes the school’s playground while opening up to the landscape through glass panes, making the most of natural light.
