The Mexican firm Manuel Cervantes studio was invited to participate in the 2021 Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, directed by Dominique Perrault, which, titled ‘Crossroads: Building the Resilient City,’ is ongoing until 31 October at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza museum, a work of Zaha Hadid Architects.
The ‘Thematic Exhibitions’ section includes ‘Housing for people,’ by Manuel Cervantes. The idea of site-specific dwellings may seem obvious, but most housing projects in the world are designed as economic, not human-based, solutions. This small show presents different exercises carried out by the studio, focusing on human solutions applied in the process of assisted self-production.
