AV Proyectos 119: Manuel Cervantes
AV Proyectos 119 dedicates its dossier to Manuel Cervantes, whose latest projects - organized into three groups -, reflect the commitment of the Mexican office to tradition and context. The section that follows features the finalist projects in the competition to refurbish the Dallas Art Museum, starting with the winning proposal by Nieto Sobejano. The issue continues with four renovations of historical houses, from an old Castilian manor house from the 16th century north of Burgos to a single-family block in the rationalist colony of El Viso in Madrid. The usual construction section covers the proposal of Barozzi Veiga to design the new central headquarters of the sports company Dynafit in Kiefersfelden. The issue closes with the colorful and revolutionary scenographies of Marta Pazos and the enigmatic photographs of the late photographer Lynne Cohen.
