Around 1968, the publisher Gustavo Gili Torra contacted me to commission me to translate another book: Changing Ideas in Modern Architecture, by Peter Collins, which had also been published in London in the significant year of 1965. The publisher had been suggested to the architect Jaume Freixa, a collaborator of the publishing house and a classmate of mine at the Barcelona School of Architecture. He was the one who gave my name to Gustavo Gili. A duplicated military service due to my participation in the Sindicato Democrático de Estudiantes encouraged me to entertain myself -and earn some money in the process- by translating Collins' book...
