Under the creative direction of the designer Silvia Venturini (Fendi) and the architect Ma Yansong (MAD), the iconic Peekaboo ISeeU handbag has been given a rehash with plates of lacquered aluminum placed like bumps on the textile facade and wrapping the handle, in a nod to the Chinese firm’s distinctive architectural style. The pieces jut out of the conventionally uninterrupted felt surface, forming sculpted waves that produce a sense of constant movement.
Complementing this accessory, the Fendi-MAD collaboration has also launched a soft slip-on sneaker that reinforces the Italian fashion house’s cutting-edge approach to men’s shoewear. The design presents three elements in three color combinations that match the Peekaboo bags: the sole with its organic geometry molded by injection; the instep with its patterns of small bubbles and metallic finishes; and elastic shoelaces that disappear above the mesh tongue when released.
