The Madrid Institute of Architects (COAM) has split the 2018 COAM First Prize among three works: the Sala Equis renovation by Plantea Estudio, Espacio Solo by Estudio Herreros and Jens Richter, and the book Oíza by Javier Vellés.

On the other hand, the 2018 edition of the Luis Moreno Mansilla Award – for building works carried out by COAM members outside the Autonomous Community of Madrid – goes to the Historical Archive of the State of Oaxaca (Mexico), by Ignacio Mendaro Corsini.

Other winners of a COAM Award are: the complete renovation of Pontejos 9, by Victoria Acebo García and Ángel Alonso Ortiz; + MAD +, by Uriel Fogué Herreros, Eva Gil Lopesino, and Carlos Palacios Rodríguez (elii); the new Banco Popular corporate headquarters, by Gerardo Ayala Hernández, Mateo Ayala Calvo, and Marcos Ayala Calvo; Edificio Ferrocarril 4BIS, by Israel Alba Ramis; the renovation of spaces in the Banco of Spain building, by Ángela García de Paredes and Ignacio García Pedrosa; the total renovation of Castellana 81, by Antonio Ruiz Barbarin; and the exhibition design of ‘Arniches and Domínguez: Architecture and Life’ for the ICO Museum, by María Carrascal Pérez, Candelaria López Romero, and Alejandro Muchada Suárez.

Finally, the jury has given the COAM +10 Award to Arturo Franco Díaz and Fabrice van Teslaar, for their refurbishment of Shed 17C– Intermediae at Madrid Matadero.
