Tian Han (1898-1968) was a Chinese writer and playright who was one of the promoters of modern drama arts in his country, and he wrote the lyrics of its national anthem. The local government of his native city, Changsha, has inaugurated a cultural park to commemorate the 120th anniversary of his birth.
Drawing inspiration from Tian Han's old residence, WCY Regional Studio designed the enclave, which includes an art gallery, a visitor center, a hotel, and an art school, characterized by its roof of inverted curves. Combining bricks of a dark tone, concrete, and wood, it goes by architectural tradition and local materials, evoking neaby towns.
