National Museum in Kabul - fs-architekten

A group of buildings modelled as a mountain range wishes to blend into the landscape and metaphorically represent the beauty, independence, unity and strength of Afghanistan’s culture.

The different materials used endow the project with distinctive features: brick to show the solid character of the building and wood carved with arabesque designs to symbolize the lightness of the courtyards.

The architects propose a linear visit to the museum, beginning on the top floor and gradually descending to bring the itinerary to an end in the main lobby located on the access level...[+]
