The museum takes inspiration from Islamic architecture. In this way, the articulation of the halls is based on the system of cells of Qala Iktyaruddin Citadel in Kabul, where the vaulted brick spaces follow an elementary spatial matrix.
The project reintroduces the walled-in nature of Al-Ukhaidir Fort in Iraq, as well as the possibility of following up with subsequent constructions, in the form of ruled extensions, of a geometric-construction system like that of Córdoba’s Mosque.
