Las Vegas Museum of Art
Kéré Architecture

Plans to build the Las Vegas Museum of Art in the heart of the largest city of the state of Nevada have been approved. The new institution, with 8,360 square meters, will be located in the area of Symphony Park, close to the Discovery Children’s Museum and the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. The LVMA will be raised with the collaboration of LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), borrowing from its art collection and benefiting from its broad experience in hosting exhibitions and developing programs.

Drawing inspiration from the Mojave Desert and local building tradition, Francis Kéré’s scheme presents two floors of exhibition spaces over a foyer and an open plaza. With an estimated cost of 150 million dollars, construction is to start before February 2027.
