Photovoltaic shade in Madrid

On a small existing pavilion on the roof of a building in Madrid rises this structure which acts as the base on which solar panels have been installed to generate electrical energy for an office to consume. It also provides an outdoor rest area for its employees. In addition, solar overheating of the roof is reduced.

The structure is built with four 9-meter-long trusses supported only at the center, spanning 4.5 meters on each side. On the side above the existing building, it is anchored to prevent the structure from swaying, and at the opposite end are some flowerpots hanging that provide a counterweight against wind suction. The reversible structrure is made with light profiles (plasterboard estándar system) screwed on the site.
