Core Kensington pilates center in London

Studio Wolter Navarro

The London practice of René Wolter and Almudena Navarro was commissioned to design Core Kensington, which features elements referring to the owners' countries of origin (Mexico and Norway), such as lattices and wood.

A small unit is fitted out to accommodate the various requirements of a pilates center: spaces for Reformer machines and storage, a reception area, two changing rooms, a washroom, and a lounge. Circulation is open and uninterrupted but for the washroom door and a central lattice that serves to organize the place, formed by 360 pieces assembled with a traditional biscuit joiner. There is close attention to details, the wooden furniture is handcrafted, and light color tones dominate.
