The team formed by Pereira-Royo and Estudio Seguí, in collaboration with the consulting firm García Diéguez, has won the competition to enlarge the Bretón de los Herreros Theater in Logroño, capital of La Rioja region, giving it new staging facilities. The flexible, multipurpose hall is integrated with the main theater and designed like a corrala. The architectural concept is based on a respect for the existing construction and its spatial continuity, seeking to meet its dramatic requirements better and improve the accessways, which are fused in a single space. The facade is tackled as a canvas of glass in dialogue with the adjacent constructions, and the roof as a deck from which to enjoy views of Logroño’s historical center.
