Tadao Ando recounts that, when he was young, he found a collection of sketches by Le Corbusier and felt the spirit of the master within him. He thought that by tracing his drawings day after day, he would become his spiritual heir and decided to meet him. When he arrived in Paris, Le Corbusier had died.
