Snøhetta in Veitastrond

Base Campamento

31/10/2020

On a plateau close to the Jostedal Glacier, overlooking it, stand these wooden cabins for use by hikers, designed by the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta to withstand the harsh climate conditions, including strong winds, of this mountainous zone. The fragmented, pentagonal volumes of the shelters incorporate angular panoramic windows that bring plenty of daylight into the interior spaces while offering generous views of the landscape.
