Mario Cucinella Architects
Public Offices

Three decades after starting out in the profession under Renzo Piano, Mario Cucinella (Palermo, 1960) now runs one of Italy’s busiest architecture offices, carrying out from his offices in Bologna and Milan a continuous stream of projects that, more than a distinctive style, share a fundamental idea learned from the Genoese master: the use of technology in making headway towards the goal of environmental sustainability and a better society. Arquitectura Viva presents four public works that attest to this ecological and civic commitment: offices in Ferrara, a community center in Peccioli, a church in Mormanno, and a museum in Milan.
