‘Lina Bo Bardi: tupí or not tupí. Brasil, 1946-1992’

The Fundación Juan March presents the first exhibition in Spain on the figure of Lina Bo Bardi (Rome, 1914 - São Paulo, 1992). The show wishes to reflect the artistic and cultural panorama of Brazil in the second half of the 20th century. ‘Tupí or not tupí’ is presented in continuity with the exhibition dedicated ten years ago to Tarsila do Amaral, the main representative of the Brazilian anthropophagy movement of the 1920s. Lina Bo Bardi shared the social concerns of this Brazilian painter, and strove to give them a tangible answer using her multi-faceted nature in a process inverse to anthropophagy, and which sought to transform European culture through the Latin American gaze...
