This pavilion is part of an overall redevelopment of the Taifong Golf Course in Changhua County, Taiwan, which includes several projects by Álvaro Siza and Carlos Castanheira. Close to Casa Siza, the first construction completed within the operation, stands the Tea House, a spot at which to stop and have a snack along the golf route.

The architectural solution for the intended function is a volume of exposed concrete whose pitched roof presents an interplay of solids and voids opening up and overhanging to optimize views of the surroundings. The more hermetic opposite side features a central round hole that the visitor’s eye is drawn to.
