On an underused plot on one side of the Lu Xun Memorial Museum stands this pavilion that hosts a variety of cultural activities. The local firm SHISUO Design office – established by Sanif and Shangshan in 2023 – had to work on a limited budget and a tight deadline in completing a versatile open space 42 meters long, 15 wide, and 12 high.

Breeze Hall, as the white building is called, presents a steel structure with slender pillars. The sloping roof is built with prefabricated panels which are perforated and two-layered to let air and light through. The low eaves mitigate external noise besides channeling rainwater towards a pool for reuse. Inside, a beige-plastered opaque volume stands out.
