These facilities outside Paris, devoted to creation, research, and education in the arts, feature auditoriums, exhibition spaces, and workshops, plus offices and a restaurant. The building deconstructs the ‘black box’ concept. The main auditorium at the center opens out to all the spaces around it, with twelve different stage configurations. Performances and exhibitions can thus take place simultaneously. The glass facades are combined with large silver-toned curtains which constitute an architecture on their own right, evoking the curtains of theater stages.
