On view through 23 January 2022, the Haus der Architektur (HDA) in the city of Graz, Austria, is an exhibition on Miró Rivera Architects. Juan Miró and Miguel Rivera have for over twenty years been working in Austin (Texas), a city characterized by a topography of gentle hills and the presence of the Colorado River. The practice seeks to maintain the balance and seemingly effortless harmonious interplay of architecture and nature. The show features selected projects of the firm, with examples of the architects’ approach presented in three thematic areas: Trees, Water, People. The works demonstrate how the interactions between city, nature, and architecture influence spaces for living and working. For Miró Rivera, the primary goal is to create both private places and public spaces for people to gather and spend time together in.
