Launch: Nieto Sobejano, 2012-2024
Fuensanta Nieto & Enrique Sobejano, in dialogue with Luis Fernández-Galiano, presented our double monograph devoted to their practice on 7 March at Fundación Arquia. Experimentation and dialogue are the central axes of Nieto Sobejano’s creative process, and light, matter, and space are as intimately bound together in their works as the landscape, history, and architecture. This is what issues from the texts in which the architects themselves explain each of the twenty-two projects featured in the monograph, two volumes of 216 pages that take us through their oeuvre of the past twelve years, a fertile period during which their firm, from offices in Madrid and Berlin, has reinforced its presence outside Spain through building as important as the Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia or the Archive of the Avant-Garde and Montblanc Haus, the latter two in Germany, not to mention designs of their which have carried the day in some major international competitions, such as those for the Cité du Théâtre in Paris and the Dallas Museum of Art.
