Four winners of the MATCOAM Awards were announced in the course of a gala event that closed the second Construction Week organized by the Madrid Institute of Architects (COAM), from its building department, MATCOAM.

The prize in the Refurbishment category went to the Restoration of the Homage Tower of Puñónrostro Castle in Torrejón de Velasco (Madrid), a work of Eduardo Marsal Moyano, Mónica González Rey, and David Landínez González-Valcárcel.

The Sustainability accolade, to the Mil Soles Library in the Butarque neighborhood of the district of Villaverde (Madrid), by Miguel Ángel Díaz Camacho.

For Innovation, the winner was the Tini House (Menorca) by Ignacio de La Vega and Pilar Cano-Lasso.

The special Cooking Surface award for interior design went to the residential project Non-Binary Cross Space III (Madrid), by Studio Pachón-Paredes.

The works awarded stand out as examples of schemes where architects address architecture’s current challenges in refurbishments, sustainability, and innovation.
