The design team of Foster + Partners and Danese Milano have created Ori, a bird feeder that can also serve as standing water bath, catering to the basic feeding and sanitation needs of a variety of bird species. Ori was developed through an iterative design process focused on aesthetics, functionality, and purity. Composed of spun aluminum cones, stainless steel elements, and threaded aluminum tubes, its vertical axis locks all components together ensuring stability. The design also allows to swap the tubes and fill them with seeds, nuts, and suet, depending on the seasonal changes and bird species, ensuring that the feed is protected from the rain and that good aeration is maintained. The water bath features an overflow drainage system that directs excess water through a central tube to the ground.
