Foster + Partners designed Dome-Home for the Goodwoof’s Barkitecture competition, which results in the Single Kennel Design Award. The canine event will take place on 28-29 May at Goodwood House in Chichester, southeast England. Bonhams will auction off a selection of the competing dog shelters, and the proceeds will be donated to the charity organization Dog’s Trust. Among them is Dome-Home, a small geodesic shell structure made of cherrywood, handcrafted by the English furniture-maker Benchmark. The curved interior is padded, with seams repeating the exterior geometry.
