On view through 2 February 2025 at Mobility City, a space run by Fundación Ibercaja in Zaragoza, is ‘The History behind the Myth,’ an exhibition of sixteen vehicles of the British luxury car maker Rolls-Royce. On Zaha Hadid’s bridge for the Expo of Zaragoza, which now houses Mobility City, various automobile models associated with famous people are on display. The historical account begins with the Twenty of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, and features the Silver Ghost limousine that a maharaja of Jodhput (India) made part of his dowry as well as Lawrence of Arabia’s Rolls-Royce Armoured Car, a military version of the Silver Ghost, to also include the Rolls-Royce Phantom II, which appears in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and the Phantom III of Goldfinger.
Every piece is presented with a detailed history and explanation of its context, so the show is not just a journey through the evolution of Rolls-Royce design and technology, but also a ride through key moments of history.
