The new project to be carried out by the British firm Foster + Partners in Madrid, given the name ‘Axis,’ will transform the old Barclays Bank offices at the juncture of Plaza de Colón into a mixed-use building. It will be taller and the elevations will be characterized by the presence of two iconic elements: on the one hand the facade with a diagrid structure, and on the other a two-level rooftop terrace whose greenery will strike a contrast with the neutral transparency of the glass facades.
