With its proverbial excess of licensed architects and the country’s building activity largely centered around the preservation of its heritage, Italy does not seem to offer the best conditions for starters. In spite of these difficulties – aggravated perhaps moreso by the problems the nation’s institutions seem to have when it comes to carrying out winning competition proposals, even when drawn up by established international figures – the initial core of the Uffizio di Architettura, founded in 1992 by architects Walter Camagna (1967), Massimiliano Camoletto (1967) and Andrea Marcante (1966), has been taking in new members whose professions speak of an interest in multimedia technologies.
