What is home? Is it a city? A building? A feeling? This question has for years chased Do Ho Suh. A simple – but not easy – question that has pushed the South Korea-born, London-based artist to look for an answer through his work, on view until 19 October at London’s Tate Modern. In ‘The Genesis Exhibition: Do Ho Suh: Walk the House,’ Suh presents a retrospective of his life through colorful textile installations which he has used to recreate some of the spaces he has lived in, as well as objects and tools of his daily activities. With these elements he explores the intricate relationship between architecture, body, and time, inviting visitors to wander through his uncertainty.
