Fine Arts professor at the University of Seville, the city where he studied and currently lives, Dionisio González (Gijón, 1965) explores the different ways of inhabiting the contemporary city. His photographs, videos, spatial interventions and installations recreate realities through the introduction of invented constructions that grow and mutate in tune with their surroundings; and offers a critical gaze through the ruin and its transformation or through the observation of forgotten sites. Two exhibitions in Madrid – at the Sala Canal de Isabel II and at Ivorypress – have unveiled different aspects of a work that combines architecture, design and art in a very particular way.
