Cruz & Ortiz distinguished for Rijksmuseum renovation

15/04/2014

Antonio Cruz and Antonio Ortiz will be inducted as Knights of the Royal Order of the Netherlands Lion. The prestigious distinction, bestowed by King Willem-Alexander, is given to figures who stand out for their contribution to Dutch society, and as the Dutch Embassy in Madrid has stated, the time has come to honor the authors of the excellent work of renovating the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. On 22 April at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the Sevillian architects will be handed the award by Cornelis van Rij, current ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Spain. The ceremony will be preceded by a round table discussion moderated by Luis Fernández-Galiano with the participation of Antonio Ortiz, the Dutch architect Jo Coenen, and Rijksmuseum director Wim Pijbes.
