The ‘Pop’ project of the architect Belén Ilari is the 16th winner of Trans-hitos competition, organized by Cevisama (the international ceramics fair held every year in Valencia) in collaboration with the Ceramic Technology Institute (ITC) and the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER).
The 38th Cevisama – programmed for 3–7 February 2020 – will feature a recreation of the project that was awarded at the Valencia Fair, within the Trans-hitos exhibition, showcasing new uses and functions of ceramic as a material as well as high-tech design products suitable for architecture, interiors, urbanism, and domestic environments.
Ilari’s project analyzed the prospect of creating an atmospheric effect with tiles. Four of the inner surfaces of a 4x4x4-meter hollow cube are clad in 15x15-cm tiles separated by open joints through which an artificial pink light shines.
