In the framework of the Insólit 2019 festival held in Palma de Mallorca last July, the architects Manuel Bouzas (Pontevedra, 1993) and Santiago del Águila (Madrid,1992) designed the temporary installation called 'The Catenary and the Arch' for the courtyard of Can Balaguer, turned into a cultural center by Flores & Prats + Duch-Pizá. Taking in 200 square meters, the project looks to the stone arches of the mansion's courtyard, counterposing them with a reverse geometry through catenaries formed by light steel meshes covered with plastic glasses.
