Porta Volta Chair by Herzog & de Meuron
10/10/2023
Herzog & de Meuron designed the Porta Volta chair for the Italian furniture brand Molteni&C. A special-edition Porta Volta will be featured in the main reading room at the new National Library of Israel in Jerusalem, which the Swiss firm also designed and is to officially open on 17 October.
What defines the chair is the backrest of solid wood, which curves in a U shape to form armrests. The four legs and the backrest angle outward slightly. The chair is available in two heights (71 cm and 66 cm), five different types of wood, and a wide range of upholsteries and colors.
