In Rome, the National Museum of 21st Century Art – or MAXXI for short – will from 26 February through 1 August bring together more than 800 drawings, plans, photographs, and models of the prolific work of Aldo Rossi, not to mention letters. The items are taken from the institution’s vast architectural archives as well as from the architect’s own foundation and other collections around the world. This major monographic exhibition pays special attention to projects carried out within Italy, such as San Cataldo Cemetery in Modena and the Theater of the World in Venice, not to mention his important theoretical contribution to contemporary urbanistic thought.
