Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos
The names of the finalists in the international competition to revitalize the Dallas Museum of Art have been unveiled. The six teams are: Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos (Madrid); David Chipperfield Architects (London); Diller Scofidio + Renfro (New York); Johnston Marklee (Los Angeles); Michael Maltzan Architecture (Los Angeles); and Weiss/Manfredi (New York).
The refurbishment and enlargement project seeks to give the Texan institution more physical visibility and transparency, offer visitors a view of goings-on inside, make the facilities more welcoming and accessible to all, and combine strategies to obtain a sustainable, energy-efficient construction. The winner of the context will be announced in August.
