
The German National Theater, the residences of the likes of Goethe, Schiller, Nietzsche, or Liszt, the Bauhaus Museum... Classical Weimar boasts a wealth of places to visit that tell of the city’s rich history, for not in vain is it on the UNESCO World Heritage list. But a whole century has had to pass for its most important political episode to have an actual physical site for its remembrance: the House of the Weimar Republic, which the firm Muffler Architekten has crowned with a light block attached to the ruins of an old armory in the very heart of the Thuringian town.
