At the base of the residential high-rise at 56 Leonard Street in New York, a work of Herzog & de Meuron, is this permanent sculpture of stainless steel by the artist Anish Kapoor. Seemingly squashed by a 250-meter-tall building, the 15-meter-long, 6-meter-tall, 40-ton artwork resembles his 98-ton Cloud Gate in Chicago. The mirror surface dynamically reflects passers-by on the bust Tribeca street. The sculpture has yet to be officially named. The inauguration will take place in the next months.
