Building for Life, Carme Pinós in ICO

01/04/2021

Like art exhibitions, architecture ones are often as much a celebration of persons as they are of works. This is particularly true in the case of ‘Carme Pinós: Building for Life,’ curated by Luis Fernández-Galiano and on view through 9 May at the ICO Museum in Madrid. Organized in three parts – presenting eight works Pinós completed alongside Miralles, the eighty she subsequently carried out on her own, and the spaces and books she frequents – the show is not just an array of buildings and projects, but an excellent foray into the world of Pinós, a universe made of talent and courage, as Rafael Moneo states in the article he has written for this issue.
