Paris' Grand Palais Ready for Olympics

29/04/2024

After three years of renovations, the Grand Palais will host the fencing and taekwondo competitions during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Built for the 1900 Universal Exposition, the Grand Palais has been closed since March 2021 for renovations, led by Chatillon Architectes. Located next to the Seine River, its huge glass roof and green-colored metal structure will be the backdrop for taekwondo and fencing events starting July 27. Work on the adjoining spaces will continue - with a pause for the Games - with full reopening scheduled for June 2025.
