For mathematicians, chalkboards are more than a blank space on which to write or draw; they offer a means of communication that is inherent to the field, ideal for its explanation and creative process. While in other sciences or fields of research chalks and dust clouds have been replaced by feltpens and whiteboards, mathematicians remain loyal to chalkboards.
