On view through 17 January 2019 at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin is ‘Enchanting Traces: Reflections on b720 Arquitectos,’ a retrospective exhibition on the firm established in 1997 by Fermín Vázquez and Ana Bassat, working from offices in Barcelona and Madrid. It covers the practice’s 20 years of activity through a selection of 20 projects that explain the approach and methods of the team b720. An installation evoking a stall in Barcelona’s Encants Market is the centerpiece of the show’s discourse. Presented on folding panels arranged around this ‘stall’ are fragments of buildings including Hotel VP Plaza España (2018, Madrid,), the Lycée Français (2017, Barcelona), the Itaim Tower (2017, São Paulo), and the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, besides projects carried out in collaboration with leading international architects like Toyo, Ito, Jean Nouvel, and David Chipperfield.
