The association culture of Barcelona’s Sants neighborhood nourishes the practice of Lavol, a collective grounded on participatory and horizontal structures, in the awareness that only in a community spirit can current problems be addressed and market logics dealt with. Arquitectura Viva presents its work in four movements that are simply variations on the same residential theme, placed in context in a short article by Josep Maria Montaner and Zaida Muxí.

For its part, this issue’s dossier features four buildings designed by Vietnamese firms: the Urban Farming Office in Ho Chi Minh City, by VTN Architects; the Jakob Saigon Factory in Thuận An, by G8A Architects and rollimarchini architects; the Premier Office Building in Ho Chi Minh City, by Tropical Space; and the Đạo Mẫu Museum in Hanoi, by ARB Architects.

In the Art and Culture section, Carlos Jiménez goes through Pedro Almodóvar’s filmography and intimate relationship with Madrid, triggered by the exhibition on the filmmaker from La Mancha that recently ran at the Conde Duque Center, while Eduardo Prieto visits the one on José María García de Paredes that is on until January at Museo ICO.

This time the usual sequence of sections is preceded by a special report on the devastating floods in Valencia. Through newspaper front pages, photographs, and graphics, Arquitectura Viva sought to chronicle the early reactions to the disaster and calibrate its reach from a territorial angle that includes architecture.
