Located in remote Nanshangang, which belongs to Sangzhou Town, this building contains a tourist center and spaces for showcasing local history and culture. Amid terraced fields and rolling mountains, the stone-clad volume blends into the environment with its green roofs, striking up a dialogue with all the nature around. The interiors are determined by the external form. Irregular walls and stepped ceilings combine local materials and techniques, in celebration of vernacular architecture.
