The museum stands as the new icon of Saint-Malo, adopting the spirit and image of a fortress that offers visitors the opportunity to lord over the environment from the top, or to immerse themselves in the isolated universe behind its stone perimeter.
The proposal for the museum preserves the special industrial-maritime atmosphere of its privileged location in relation to the historic centre of Saint-Malo. Certain elements of the landscape resonate in the project: the large volumes of the fishing
The position of the three longitudinal pieces, arranged along the harbor, creates a link between the new museum-lookout and the water. The superposition of the volumes and the configuration of the facade of zinc slats suggest movement and dynamism.
