The partners Fuensanta Nieto and Enrique Sobejano, based in Madrid and Berlin, have capped the first prize in the invitational competition for a new Science Museum in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. The design presents nine enormous ceramic vases which are subtly separated from one another in order to let natural light shine into the galleries. Containing a total floor area of 80,000 square meters and including science and technology theaters, the project is an illustration of the importance that the partnership has taken on outside Spain over the last few years.
