Kyiv, before the conflict
02/03/2022
The Cantabrian photographer Manuel Álvarez Diestro traveled to Kyiv before the conflict and took pictures of the Ukrainian capital's latest urban developments. This photo series seeks to create a metaphor for hope through new constructions that someday will be symbols of the start of new times for the city. Manuel was invited by the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival to present his feature film Trains Bound for the Sea. Between film screenings he drove with his father to different districts, particularly on the other side of the Dnipro River, photographing new structures.
